Robo Rides & Toll Tech

Nissan is taking another step toward driverless cars giving people rides.  Nissan and DeNA are testing what they call a “robo-vehicle mobility service”.  The people who are willing to give Easy Ride a try travel in vehicles equipped with autonomous driving technology along a set route in Japan.  In return, the companies get feedback.  They hope to introduce a full service early in the next decade. You may not like paying tolls, but it’s getting a little easier.  Audi is launching vehicle-integrated toll payment technology on select vehicles this year.  They’ve built a toll transponder into the rearview mirror.  If your road trip takes you across the border, the system also works in parts of Canada and Mexico.
